Staff Note: Can really relate to this because I think about this all the time. And honestly, I think a lot of people can say the same. Quite wonderful piece.

They talk to me all the time, these marvelous little demons. They live in the whispers in the back of my mind. I wish they’d just be a little more direct. I wish they’d tell me something vile - to kill my neighbors or eat fetuses or dig up corpses for magic spells or something. But they just hang out, smoking their demon weed; telling me I shouldn’t miss the bus again or asking me if I wanted the last beer as they’re drinking it. Sometimes they’re pretty fun. Sometimes they suggest new movies or books I might be interested in. Sometimes they offer me a key bump or suggest a good way to kill time instead of doing something useful. Mostly they’re just marvelous, in their own limited ways. I really need to get better demons some day.
